Go Fish

Yesterday we were in Rehoboth Beach and had lunch at Go Fish. We had seen quite a bit of TV advertising for the place and decided to try it. Overall it was disappointing. It is only a short distance from the beach so parking is a problem. The restaurant is a narrow-hole-in-the-wall place. Food always comes first with me so ignoring those two small drawbacks we order the Fish and chips.

As you can see it almost looks good. Looks and taste are separate matters at Go Fish however. The Fries and coleslaw tasted like they were straight off the Sysco truck. The fish was good and it had a nice light batter. I would say it would have been an adequate meal at $8.00 but they charged $11.00 for it. Entirely too much. There are better places too spend $11.00. I think all of their beer they offer is about $5.00 a bottle so that also jacks the lunch price up.

I am sure there are people who work for the government north of the canal who thinks this is a great place but for me I will pass it by the next time I go to Rehoboth.

I happen to see this display of Sand Dollars for sale at $1.99, isn't that sort of like an oxymoron?

Comments:
Go Fish is expensive. Next time try Five Guys on the opposite side of the street, if you'd like fast food made fresh.

We are getting a Five Guys in South Salisbury as well, next to Fratelli's.

I say eat local, when you drive to a beach area you will pay those prices, that's what visitors from other parts are used to paying.
I tried our local new pizza place in Delmar this afternoon,it wasn't bad but don't just get one slice because one slice will cost almost as much as a small pizza.
Spoke to the owners (in spanish of course) and was impressed with their friendlyness. I will go back for a real meal next time.

I'll be sure to ask my stockbroker if sand dollars are a wise investment. Thanks for the tip Howard.

This is your chance Swampcritter to corner the world market on sand dollars, much like the Hunt brothers in the 1970's cornering the world's silver market and driving the price of silver up, you could drive the price of sand dollars up and than cash in.
